@MisterSmith@mastodon.social die USA haben das Völkerrecht schon immer "hinter sich gelassen" bzw. in ihrem Sinne als Hegemon genutzt, das ist kein neuer Zustand.
Sie ziehen sich auch nicht davon zurück. Sie sagt frei nach Louis XIV: "Das Völkerrecht, das bin ich". Klar andere Staaten können sich darauf berufen, haben aber nicht die Mittel es durchzusetzen, dafür müssten sie selber Hegemonialmacht sein oder werden und das wäre ein Imperialismus mit dem anderen ausgetrieben.
Und wer ist "wir"? Wir als Individuen? Zumindest ich hab in letzter Zeit nix mit Völkerrecht zu tun gehabt oder bin gefragt worden. Wir als Deutscher Staat? Wie gesagt, ob die letzten Angriffe völkerrechtswidrig sind ist ja unstrittig, der USA ist es nur Wurst und die Herrschenden hier können und/oder wollen da gar nix gegen haben.

Es sollte spätestens jetzt sollte allen klar sein, dass das #Völkerrecht ein Papiertiger und Machtinstrument ist, um den #Imperialismus anderer zu delegitimieren und den eigenen durchzusetzen.
Ein Recht muss "ins Recht" gesetzt werden und wenn du (die USA) die Instanz bist, die das tut, dann gilt es für dich nunmal nicht. Weil wer soll dir noch auf die Finger klopfen?

Whats seems not to be included, is a barcode scanner interface for physical books or at least some csv import for a bunch of ISBNs
But maybe there are ways, to not have to fill out the form for every single physical book

For some time I thought that it would be nice to have a kinda library software that I can use to keep track of all the books I have, especially in different formats (physical, audio, e-book, library available)
And with a Raspi I wanted to try a self-hosted version
What I found is booklore: https://booklore.org/docs/installation
Which looks promising, at least the setup with docker was completely painless, and with the predefined scripts, I guess, even doable by non-technical people
Let's see how the usability turns out

While it is fun having the progress shown as 3500 / 13488 with The Complete Wheel of Time ebook, I wanted to enjoy the individual covers as well.
Luckily Calibre with the epub-split plugin made that rather painless, just some metadata adjustments.
Also kudos to TOR publishing for intentionally providing a DRM-free epub, making this possible (without having to remove it beforehand)

Sosehr ich meine #Bibliothek auch liebe, die haben leider nur die echt grottige Übersetzung von Das Rad der Zeit.
Darum hab ich jetzt den Schritt getan und den Vorteil von ebooks genutzt, der auch so ein gigantisches Werk in eine handliche Größe bringt (zumindest gewichtsmäßig)
Das schwierigste dabei war eine wirklich DRM-freie Version vom TOR zu bekommen:

Es gibt auch eine von Little Brown Book was wohl einfach der UK Verlag ist. Trotzdem hat mich dieser Amazon prime sticker abgeschreckt bei denen abgeschreckt, da wollte ich doch beim Ursprungsverlag bleiben.
Am Ende hab icb es dann bei Kobo gekauft (weil dort DRM freies epub) und es dann auf mein Pocketbook gezogen, auch wenn Kobo den Download button gut versteckt und mir stattdessen ihre Webview oder App aufquatschen will.
Sollten e-books nicht alles bequemer machen?

@niq@fosstodon.org ich weiß noch nicht ob ich wirklich ein Fan bin, es geht auf jeden Fall in die Richtung weird fantasy mmn.
Aber es war halt sehr einflussreich, gerade auch für frühe Pen&Paper Systeme. Deswegen ist es auf meiner Liste gelandet.
2 Jahre ist aber schon ein straffer Zeitplan, oder bei welchem Buch bist du jetzt.
Ich hab den Vorteil, dass mein Hirn Hörbücher und print oder ebooks auseinanderhalten kann, ohne zu verknoten, so kann ich zwei Bücher parallel lesen.
Bei mir ist eher das Problem, dass ich 5-6 angefangene Reihen habe, die ich, nach einer längeren Pause, eigentlich von vorn anfangen kann, weil ich keinen Überblick mehr habe.
Zum Glück gibt es für WoT die Companion App, ohne die wäre ich aufgeschmissen bei den ganzen Charakteren.

Mein paralleles Hörbuch ist gerade mit der Elric Saga belegt.
D.h. ich werd mit zwei Monumentalwerken noch ne Weile beschäftigt sein
