People ate markedly different food in medieval England. And analysis of isotopes reveals that social status and wealth had a profound impact on diet. Read more, including how researchers went about their work, from phys.org: https://flip.it/ELRkN2 #Science #History #Humans #Diet #England

How to use your evil social skills superpowers for good: Maikel > Do you like this kind of nuts? Miguel > No Mkl > Then I'll get them Mgl > Why? Do you think I'll eat them normally if I did. Mkl > Yes, and then you'll complain about your diet or the kg you put on. So I rather get something that has no influence over it and make your life easier (Miguel goes quiet for a couple of very dramatic seconds in deep thought...🤔🕜🤔🕜🕜) Mgl > Oh then I rather leave those chocolates and get this that you don't like Mkl > Congratulations, you've just discovered how useful reverse psychology is. 😇 #couples #shopping #diet

Stupid re-#introduction post now that I've moved to mastodonapp.uk: Hello I am Joe. I am an admin gonk from #Norwich in the #uk. #Linux user but not weird about it. #80s synthpop idiot. Semi-talented #iOSdev (developed Budgie Diet, a free #diet app). Gamer that doesn't like being called that. Boring social democrat politically. Enjoy #cruise holidays. I have a website where I very infrequently blog: https://joebaldwin.me.uk Also have a Pixelfed where I post sometimes: https://gram.social/j0ebaldw1n And a bookwyrm: https://bookwyrm.social/user/JoeBaldwin

For individuals with metabolic syndrome, a two-day calorie-restricted diet of oats produced a 10 percent decrease in LDL. The reduction persisted for 6 weeks. A six-week lower-dose supplementation with oats was not as effective. The gut microbiome shifted to increase metabolism of phenols, and those metabolites may have a role in LDL reduction.
