I have used WD drives for years and even went through their warranty service before with no issues.
This may all change now.
I shipped them a drive about 2 months ago and am still struggling to get a replacement for my home server. Looks like they have given EVERYTHING to AI and can’t even fulfill the warranty.
Need to find a 8TB drive now myself as I can’t rely on them.
This is not good.

So it looks like Unifi released an update to protect that targets this issue with Home Assistant.

While trying to figure out why my Unifi Protect stopped updating the Home Assistant entities I came across this GitHub issue. Looks like it will be fixed in 2026.3. So if you suffer from it and can wait it should be fixed. I hope.
Looks like it was broken with a Unifi update.

When did Segway Navimow announce the automated gate? I came across this link but it shows a metal gate for 2 seconds and then refreshes the page to something else. Looks like its coming soon.
Also found a second site with more info. Looks like it runs on D batteries. Only works with certain models.

@rnDoug@hometech.social I have the claude app installed on my windows pc. I have the e: drive mapped to the config folder of my HA (samba share app). Then in Claude. Switch over to code and point it to the e: drive. It goes through everything there. Put it in plan mode and it will not make changes.

So I’ve gone full circle with my AI coding flow.
I started wirh OpenCode, but decided to try Codex and then moved over to Claude Code.
I’m now back with OpenCode but have my agents using models from two different services to balance out the load based on their strength.
I feel like this is the way it should be. Thoughts?

I found out through Home Assistant that my homes humidifier was failing. After looking into it, the valve was seized. Replaced it and now back in business. This is why I like monitoring the home.

@ssamulczyk@mstdn.social Swapping controllers is a pain. I have a few hundred devices. Zwave is much easier with newer firmware you can back up and restore. Zigbee always was a pain and still haven’t really perfected that one. But with these controllers I’m now happy. I eventually want to get rid of the m3 but that may require replacing some devices too.

@ssamulczyk@mstdn.social I’ve been through a number of controllers. Right now I have the Home Assistant ZBT-2 as my primary zigbee with the Aqara M3 for my legacy Aqara devices. I also have a ZWA-2 for zwave and another ZBT-2 for thread. That’s a lot of signals around my house. But it has never been more stable.

@ssamulczyk@mstdn.social If you still have issues and you haven’t yet also consider putting it on a USB extension. Plugging directly into the USB port can cause interference issues. I’ve seen and others have reported this.

When did usb cables get so complicated? Just trying to look for a USB-C cable and now I have to worry about things like data transfer speeds, charging speeds and other things I should have to. They really screwed this up for us.

Another Home Assistant tip I learned today. I was so upset when the took away the homeassistant.log. Here is how you can get it back.
On the CLI run these 3 commands.
ha core options --duplicate-log-file=true
ha core rebuild
ha core restart
