@cstross@wandering.shop One of the short SF stories in #Nature #Futures described the situation of a simulated or copied rather than wholly artificial machine intelligence, once human, which had been put in a phenomenal number of jars and shaken, and then discarded, of course, over a long period into the future. Seemed bad. One of the #basilisks , perhaps.

@cstross@wandering.shop An essential ingredient of terrorism is, unsurprisingly, #terror. Mild-annoyance-ists exist, and various laws probably cover them, but I cannot be terrified by for instance the application of cold #soup to a thing or person, nor a grammatical demand that un- or most specified actions be taken in or over some geographical area. "ance" may be redundant. I expect there is a better #German word.

@cstross@wandering.shop Building and running a copy of the dead person has seemed to me more something a company etc would do for its convenience, or I suppose relatives would for theirs. Thiel wakes, internally hated, officially dead, and with tasks set by the owners of the assembly. OTOH attaching a device to the still-living person's skull which quietly programs and replaces module by module their biological brain might keep a continuous being. Until "the seat of the soul" is replaced, and Will enacted.

I assume Aspirin is OTC and Clopidogrel isn't, there, as here, and I assume this annoys people and causes some people to buy Aspirin rather than negotiate Clopidogrel. Also, many Trumpists will have heard of Aspirin.

For non-pharmacist-etc-s: Clopidogrel is more effective against infarction, causes bruising more markedly, and perhaps is expensive enough there to annoy Americans who are not the POTUS/rich. OTOH Apixaban is more effective against stroke if he is in AF. I wonder if Aspirin has been Hoovered, become a generic name for bruise-encouragers as well as generic drug.

@cstross@wandering.shop Well, there's good eating on posh gits, but are they sustainable. Just that I'm conscious that I live in a country which can perhaps grow 2/3 of the food the inhabitants need to eat (and considerably less than they want to eat) and we recently left an association with countries who can grow more food than they even want to eat. To set a desired population above the number the area can feed needs a plan, whether it is making enough electricity that people will send food, or whatever.

@cstross@wandering.shop I suspect the existing rules on using people's likeness to attribute or associate a viewpoint to them cover most of that. And the exceptions. And the people who maliciously ignore that are likely to ignore additional, criminal, laws, as well. Possibly more effective to set up a foundation to chase them. And disseminate their likenesses ;)

@cstross@wandering.shop I believe the "recall for a court-martial" is separate from the general "recall for active duty" provision, and there's no limit on the first one.

@jshawthorne@packmates.org But that's a different problem, isn't it? The military can't court-martial arbitrary civilians under military law, and the senator *is* a civilian at present.
