There are car people here, and motorcycle people too- I am both.
I truly love driving, like I really do. Took my test on a snowy day, dad and uncle are very skilled race car drivers, etc.
Car people really do tend to own their cars for a long time - mine is a 2014 hybrid that I love and will keep till it dies- and then I will fix it. Its job is to carry me places my motorcycle can't - snow, or places where I need large items.
I bought my motorcycle in 2013. I will ride it till I physically can't. I've had the beast 70% disassembled in my living room a couple of times for maintenance.
Yeah I love driving, I love cars, I love motors. But I bet you I use less fuel than most, especially most people who commute on fossil fuels like I do. And, I'm fucking broke. I can't afford to replace a vehicle, I can't afford to add one, and I don't want to be runover in this bike-hostile town.
So I get where the heat comes from, but some of us are bound to using fuel to travel. Shitting on us isn't going to accomplish anything.

I do have a legacy boot option, I have tried it both ways- legacy on and off. I do not have a bootable windows drive but can make one if I ever feel like it, I am on day 15 in a row of 12 hour shifts trying to amuse myself at work.

Ok folks, tech question.
My SO gifted me a fantastic little budget laptop made by Crealander. American Megatrends bios, Intel celeron N4020, comes with TPM 2.0 and Win 11.
Obviously perfect for a Mint swap! Except I can NOT force this bastard to boot from USB. It simply hangs after accessing the USB as evidenced from the activity lights on my drive.
I have done this many times but this stonewalling is a new problem to me.
Things I have tried:
different thumb drive
different .iso, different OS (tried Bazzite, Mint, and Mint light)
different bootable device maker (Balena Etcher, Rufus)
I've done every obvious BIOS method (deactivated the HD mbr, manually set boot override, tried with TPM on and off)
If anyone has any ideas I would love to try them. I've already run the debloater for win 11 but this nifty lil lappy still isn't snappy. Not slow, but certainly not as happy as Mint will make it.

Those, and the artless slop generators are what we hate. But using LLMs to pore over huge datasets looking for things experts like yourself have trained them to find? That is the Good Stuff.

But then they go on to say we should stop bullying fucking assholes (people with "other" viewpoints, like AI shills) and letting them play in our jungle gym.
The toot has already got tons of replies, but I just wanted to say:
No. Fuck you. This community is chock full of people from marginalized communities, and any push to get us to "open up" to people with "different viewpoints" that include fucking fascist autocorrect bots that are shredding the net to devour it is just fucking stupid.
I don't give a shit if Fedi grows. I rather like being a place where people from famous artists like Micheal Whelen, to community instigators like VantaBlack and PhoenixSerenity feel comfortable interacting with everyone directly.
The people most in favor of this fucking nonsense have a HUGE idealogical overlap with those who burn crosses, so to speak.

I have a pair of ruptured Achilles'. Rest, Ice, and Elevation (RICE) helps a lot, as does compression and ibuprofin for the inflammation. Physical therapy exercise daily.
I get the same amount of relief from a puff or two of a vape. When I add cannabis to the mix I am able to be active enough that the exercises become redundant.
