I miss buttons.
No, I don't mean, like, physical buttons instead of touch screens--yes, that, too, but that's not what I mean right now.
Looking at a web page, and you just have to *infer* from the design what's a button and what's just highlighted. Is this a button? No, it's just purple, with rounded edges. Exactly like all the actual buttons on the page, but a little different.
I want button-looking buttons. Square-cornered, "3D-ified", fake shadow, that "depresses" when you click it. Remember those? There was never any ambiguity about those.
Okay, so it's "Windows 95"-ish, and I'm an old man. But there was something to that design language, it spoke without words, you just knew. Yeah, I miss it a bit.
