Yes, that's exactly (part of) the problem.
What bugs me about it is that the only structural difference between "those we could not turn into city dwellers" and its Turkish translation, or between Kalaallisut _orsortorusuppunga_ and English "I want to eat blubber", is constituent order and whether the entire clause fits inside of a single phonological word. That's an interesting topic for a book (or discussion) on morphosyntax, but does not point to any deep difference in how Turks, Greenlanders, and Anglophones think or use language, or honestly any particularly deep difference between the languages themselves. It's just a question of whether you use bound or independent morphemes.

UIs could be truly modality independent if we actually bothered to make them that way.
This also isn't completely theoretical for me, even if right now I'm basically fully abled. In my 30's, a visual display is still the easiest and most obvious way to do things, but I'm in no way confident that that will still be true in my 50's or 60's.

This Easter, if you find yourself using embryonic galliformic keys in an associative array, remember that there is no way to determine if an individual object will be equivalent to another until the shell has cracked, the chick has fully emerged, and the appropriate ffunction has been run to determine the object's slot in the underlying array. This can have significant implications for the ultimate size of the map.

Not in as many words, although there have definitely been pro-AI talking points where the idea that it helps you utilize existing code more effectively has come up.
But what I'm really responding to an implicit question that I've had to answer for myself, about where the line between rejecting AI because it's AI and rejecting _other people's code_ is. Perhaps when I get a free moment I should insert a paragraph elucidating that.

Nobody is asking you to break the law. Nobody is implying that you even hypothetically _might_ break the law. But we _are_ trying to make it clear that you can always not break the law in a way that clearly communicates how stupid the law is and how little interest you have in complying with the spirit of the law, or with anything more than the bare minimum that the letter of the law requires.
People have been half-assing compliance for as long as compliance has been a thing. Do some research, talk to a lawyer, and then build only the half of the ass necessary to keep lawsuits off your back.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have started studying Kalaallisut (Greenlandic) with the unforgettable Per Långgard.
I'm interested in following accounts that post in Kalaallisut on fedi. I'm open to a wide range of topics and types of people, and will sympathize with anti-Trump and anti-colonial political takes.
I wouldn't _object_ to following (or at least checking out) accounts posting in other Inuit languages as well, so long as it is clear who is speaking what.
