Thankful to see this post.
I live in a rural area. There are no buses, no trains, no carpools. We try to consolidate our trips out as best we can but there's only so much we can do.
I've straight up seen people suggest that people living in rural places were unethical - fully disconnected from the fact that this is where their food comes from.
Not everything can get concentrated into cities and not all of us want that life. Rural public transport is possible but lacking.

I'm considering trying to put together a Death Cafe for folks who are disabled, especially those are semi or totally housebound and might not be able to get to one otherwise.
Is there any interest in this? It would be on Zoom, either on a Sunday afternoon or a weekday evening (EDT/UTC-4).

Got a membership to our local wildlife place on their opening day. It was a great time! Thanks to @petrosophia for suggesting we go.
The box turtles apparently had just come up that day and were very sleepy. Seeing them nap right next to food cause they were just that sleepy still was a treat.
Also we were informed the eagle has anxiety. Big mood.

Knitting and Crochet Mastodon:
What do you use for project bags when a old grocery bag won't cut it anymore but you don't want to shell out for or sew up your own with nice fabric?
I feel like I've got to be overlooking something obvious I could use.
This is for a cowl scarf in particular. I need room to fit the yarn and a spindle (usually my wrist one when I'm out and about). Would really prefer something I can zip, sinch, or tie shut.
