@isaiah@mastodon.social I bought a robot vacuum 3-4 years ago. The hardware seems fine, but the software is atrocious. It regularly forgets the map of the house, and then has to take hours to remap it. You have to create an account, but it regularly forgets that also. Then you have to log in, but it doesn’t use standard iOS logon prompts, so the account information isn’t kept in the keychain. You have to either remember it or go find it and type it in. And when you do type it in, the font is super tiny and it uses gray text. After the last time it logged out I just gave up, and it’s just been sitting in the corner for a year or two now. By the way, it had good reviews, and wasn’t cheap. Though I guess they have much more expensive ones now. Sounds like you like the one you got, care to share which one?

When I was growing up anxiety about Russian mislead attack felt like in immediate tangible fear. We’ve moved on to many other fears, but reading this brings back a bit of that childhood dread for me.
