watching the dip fishing on Going Native, where the Indigenous folks dip long poles with nets into the white water for salmon - and I haven’t seen it done from a low bank, just from the cliffs at the white water, and it’s brilliant, for a reason I’ve never heard stated: because bears can’t fish there, you can harvest and not have to deal with the bears, apply the ol’ human kidney and take the terrain the competition can’t. 👍

I think I realized something when I saw that the first toot here needed explaining and then wrote the second one, that I assumed everything in the second one was understood when I wrote the first one.
