Awards measure a project’s reputation; working for the people inside it measures its soul. Too often, the gap is a chasm we politely ignore. #architecture #orgdesign #leadership

The Kelvin Aqueduct on the Forth and Clyde in Glaagow, currently devoid of water while a leak is being fixed. This aqueduct, dating from 1787, is 136m long and 19m high, and was built to carry the Forth and Clyde Canal across the River Kelvin. It uses three feet of puddling clay to make it waterproof, and it is presumably this layer of clay which is being repaired. #glasgow #kelvinaqueduct #forthandclydecanal #maryhill #architecture

A little bit of architecture to enjoy. This is from the interior of the National Pantheon in Lisbon looking up to the dome. Construction of the building - originally a church - was started in the 17th century but only declared finished in 1966 when the dome was added. #Photography #Architecture #Lisbon #Portugal #Baroque #Church #Pantheon #NationalPantheon

Most people obsess over individual picks in a portfolio without ever checking if the overall structure holds together. Good architecture and good allocation both rely on getting the proportions right first-details are meaningless if the frame is off. #investing #architecture #behavioralfinance

Too many "innovative" projects chase a fleeting aesthetic or tech trend, not timeless human needs. They look dated the moment the next shiny thing arrives, because the innovation was a costume, not the structure itself. #architecture #housing #urbanism

The view from inside and out of the master bedroom at Coleton Fishacre, which was completed exactly 100 years ago, this year. The house was designed by Oswald Milne, a former assistant to Edwin Lutyens, for the D'Oyly Carte family, as their country residence. The Arts & Crafts style construction is perfectly complemented by Art Deco interiors. Sometimes wealth is accompanied by good taste... #Photography #FensterFreitag #Architecture #History

Just as a building's harmony relies on the balance of its parts, a portfolio's strength comes from the deliberate sizing of its holdings. Both are about structural integrity, not just piling on pieces. #Investing #Architecture #PortfolioDesign
