"Judge Carolyn Kuhl, who is presiding over the trial, ordered anyone in the courtroom wearing AI glasses to immediately remove them, noting that any use of facial recognition technology to identify the jurors was banned." They should have been held in contempt anyway. By the time they noticed the glasses, the data already left the building.

Some good options here. One thing I noticed when I started eliminating services was how little I missed them, and how robust the alternatives are. Many services will have migration paths. Top of my head is the communicator to the flip phone. The mechanic that was used to ground events in the past was literally time travel or the holodeck. The show that seems to live in the present but cast in the future is an excusable beef of mine, but noticeable. And WHERE'S TILLY? She went off to teach at the academy and I thought she for sure would be at there.😁

What bothers me is when they throw in so much anachronistic elements into a world over 1000 years in the future. We still have high school style gyms and roller board luggage we need to sit on to close... in the future? It's a little too familiar a place sometimes. Trek used to envision the future not the past.

It's no surprise this played out but I thought Grok be the one to step in. Either way when bad things happen, expect to see quick denial of accountability ("the AI did it") as they allow autonomous decision making of weapon systems, or OpenAI becomes the fall guy. Either way, the administration can do bad things and wash their hands.

Coda: The developer anonymously came forward to throw his bot under the bus. It's striking with the lack of accountability. When humans kick off automated processes, it's not the code's fault, the human holds the accountability. The same goes for AI and AI agents. I am not against using AI and agentic AI as a tool. @setto@tooting.ch @silverpill@mitra.social Yes I agree it's a pain point. When I first started building I struggled with finding a way to have a federated identity. One service I found seemed to come with a monetary cost and also allowed someone else to be your identity broker. Which makes sense in the web of trust sense, but not what I was going for. What I like about Nostr is the idea of the one distributed cryptographic identity. But I'm still running into broker (bunker) problems - third parties don't seem to be working or moved on. Or I need to expose private keys to someone else's app in order to play. Also not ideal.

@dyne@toot.community It seems like Nostr is just another crypto wallet with a social graph attached to it. I set up Nostr today because I was curious. I created an identity through an app, onboarded to the app/server/whatever with some topic-based follows, and landed on the feed. Cool. What I was greeted with was Bitcoin spam and AI "art". Prominently featured was my wallet at every turn. After realizing I was just subscribed to people who I absolutely did not want on my social graph, I unfollowed all of them. They didn't go away. Opened another app and they popped up there. Deleted again...came back. I deleted that identity and came back where I control my graph, my data, and my experience. It would be great if Nostr and Mastodon had worked together to provide a unified identity for the federation. But it seems like it was just a competing silo for cryptobros, scammers, and AI bots. Are there any Nostr communities that are actually decent communities?

It’s fine if a project uses AI in its dev toolbox. But I would really like to see projects standardize documentation for their prompt history that can serve two purposes… 1 - Document what they did and did not consider, and 2 - Provide documentation you can feed back into the model so requirements remain immovable and consistent.

Experienced developers need to guide the process and also review every change. Vibe tends to just take whatever the AI 💩 out. I also catch some models “fixing” things I didn’t ask it to which can be annoying too. Review everything like it is a junior programmer.
