I find it interesting that the non-technical people have been replying to their rejection emails with "thanks for the opportunity" etc. But very few of the programmers are.

Does anyone know why electron apps in Linux have a giant weird window shadow that flickers and glitches out? It's consistent between Signal and FreeTube for me and I have no interesting in a weird window shadow at all.

I kind of love how many applicants to these programming positions have done teaching. It's refreshing to see people who didn't 10xbeBEST or chase money but actually contributed back to the students coming up behind them.

I wish there was a word that meant "European Unionist", Because Ubuntu is European (Isle of Man for tax reasons 😜 ) It's just not Unionist.
This is important to us Brits who are still Europeans, even after Brexit. Our position on the continent of Europe didn't change nor our cultural connection to the mainland.
(Please don't use Ubuntu, Canonical is not a nice company)

My go to sanity checking is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F_cpaCRMBM who seems to be on the level about health care systems and some of the deeper things going on.
I liked his comparison of the UK system. Where he nailed exactly what the issues are, but even starved by American lobbing the NHS is still better than anything the USA. And I miss it.

This smells like an old wives tale.
I've looked at a number of sources, and I can't find any historical writing about the trees being the primary store of nutrition.
What I can find is: Soils are poor quality because of glaciation, cash crops couldn't be gown only subsistence crops. This pushed people into timber industries and changed the trajectory of New England from agriculture towards industry unlike southern colonies.
So the trees got used, not just removed for no reason.

We got 8 applicants per job so far on our Inkscape job posting. And that's a lot more competitive than last year when we had 2... for 2 positions.
