One way to look at companies like Amazon and their return policies is that the way they actually function for companies like Amazon is to create so much sure and ultimately an impossibly large mountain waste, that they choke out competition.
They don’t care that product is sold and then return and refunded because they’ve already extracted money from the rest of us. They can throw away metric tons of perfectly usable goods and push them straight into landfill…

And if you’re going to exchange dying money for another currency the parties who purchased money that experiences death, have to have a reason to use it.
