A guy at work a little older than me did a riff off of the title of the movie Big Trouble In Little China as a joke to some younger guys. They looked confused. I said aren’t they remaking that movie? The young guys said what is Big Trouble In Little China? My hip spontaneously went bad. #GenX

I ended up rolling down Hawthorne this afternoon, and it's weird the things that I notice; for instance the block where the AYH hostel was is now a 5-over-1 apartment building. And most of the businesses on Hawthorne have rotated except Fred Meyer and McMenamins. The days are slow but the years are quick. #pdx #genx

I've been here since the 2022 Great Twitter Exodus, and I've apparently never posted an #introduction, so… I'm a #GenX techie who's lived in #Boston since the late 80's. My 15 minutes of fame were being fired by #DOGE from #USDS early in 2025 and sounding the alarm in every media outlet that'd listen since nobody else was doing it. I'm not a fan of limelight, so I stopped when others took up the baton. My politics are aggressively progressive and antifascist, and I post about them a lot. (1/2)

A common experience I discuss with other #GenX : Groomed for early success in "gifted and talented" programs, ending up "underachievers" or dropouts in high school/college - because we lacked the social/emotional skills, executive function or other capabilities that our peers could manage. Some of this is better now with special education programs, which were either nonexistent or in their infancy when we were kids. But really, my Millennial/Gen Z kids got short shrift too.
